BAOBAB TRADING CO.
Reclaimed Metal Bird Sculptures - Fairly Traded
All our sculptures are hand-crafted from reclaimed metal, using old oil drums, by a group of skilled artists from Zimbabwe. We have sold this group's work in the UK for twelve years now and the wide range of sculptures have grown over the years. Our sculptures are suitable for gardens or interiors and we provide stakes for the feet of the sculptures to anchor into grass, plus simple care instructions to keep them in good condition. We offer 2 types of finish: Normal Finish and Bronzed Finish.
Prices now include delivery throughout mainland UK.

Notes
All our bird sculptures are 'true-to-size', incredibly detailed and skilfully resemble the bird they represent.
The only exception to this is our fun range of insects, which are larger than life!
Normal Finish Sculptures
Normal Finish is an attractive brown metal, with varying degrees of warm, subtle hues, and this is the standard finish for all our range.
Bronzed Finish Sculptures
Bronzed Finish is where the same reclaimed metal has been copper-plated to give a 'bronzed effect'. It is not 'bronze' and will not go green with age, but the copper-plating acts as an extra protection to the sculpture and may need a bi-annual coat of varnish to keep this patina in good condition ie. a quick coat of varnish in Spring and Autumn!
Individual Hand-Crafted Sculptures
As each sculpture is indvidually hand-crafted, it may vary slightly and have a slightly different head movement, etc. Also, there is a limit to the number of sculptures produced, so if we do not have a design in stock, we can order one to be made up (3-6 month wait). Alternatively, as we have other styles in stock, it is always worth sending us an email,or calling us for a chat, to discuss your requirements, and we can send digital photos of suitable alternatives either by email or post.
Reclaimed Metal Bird Sculptures We are an established company and have been trading since 1995. In fact, we were one of the first companies to bring metal bird sculptures from Zimbabwe to the U.K. and our range of bird sculptures has grown over the years to an ever-increasing loyal band of customers/collectors. We offer a wide range of unique bird sculptures, individually hand-crafted from reclaimed metal and suitable for both gardens and interiors. Our main range of metal bird sculptures is known as the 'Birdwoods Collection' and is known to be the best quality available in Zimbabwe. Many designs are exclusive to the export market, and as the main agent for this range in the U.K., we are able to offer a wide selection of choice to bird lovers, Africa enthusiasts and garden-lovers alike, at exceptionally keen prices for an individual quality piece of art for the garden or home. Fairly Traded We are exceptionally conscious of the exploitation that can occur with differing exchange values, but would like to stress that we believe in Fair Trade and a fair price, and as a result always pay our artists a good price for their work- thus enabling our artists and their families to have a good standard of living. This has especially helped them during the latter years, with the difficulties in Zimbabwe. At the same time, we try to keep our prices as reasonable as possible for our customers and pride ourselves on offering affordable art. In many cases our prices have not increased for several years.
